#1. Subject searches

Some books have many subjects attached, giving you a good idea of the interests of the poet, or the scope of the anthology. Subjects range from a general description like natural landscape, to the more specific trees and shrubs, to the very specific birch.

There are two ways of searching for subjects in INSPIRE:

  1. Searching for Subjects in alphabetical order takes you first to an alphabetical list of terms. Click on a term to see the results list for that term, then on a title to see the full record. This is also known as a Browse search.
  2. A Keyword search will look anywhere in the records for the key words you enter. You'll find this option in the main Search drop down menu.

  • Remember that a poet or author may be the subject of of a work, as well as an author.
