Gordon Meade was born in 1957 in Perthshire, and now lives in Fife. He studied English at the Universities of Dundee and Newcastle upon Tyne. He has been the Creative Writing Fellow at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Writer in Residence for Dundee District Libraries, and the Creative Writing Tutor for East Lothian's WIRED Out of School Hours project.
Widely published in the UK and abroad, his work is available in three pamphlet collections – most recently Listening To Others (2002) – and in two full-length collections published by Chapman, Singing Seals (1991) and The Scrimshaw Sailor (1996). He also has a collection, A Man At Sea (diehard, 2003).
