Jenni Daiches was born in Chicago, and has lived in Scotland since 1971, in South Queensferry since 1984. From 1978-2001 she worked at the National Museums of Scotland. She writes on literary and historical subjects as Jenni Calder, and fiction and poetry as Jenni Daiches.
Her published poetry includes Mediterranean (1995) and contributions to mainly Scottish magazines. She is currently working on a new collection, Lochgilphead Lights. Other publications include The Nine Lives of Naomi Mitchison (Virago) and Scots in Canada (Luath). Forthcoming titles include Letters from the Great Wall (fiction) and Not Nebuchadnezzar: In Search of Identities and Scots in the USA.
