A-Z » Elizabeth Burns Elizabeth Burns was born in England but has spent most of her life in Scotland. Her publications include two collections of poetry, Ophelia and other poems (Polygon, 1991) and The Gift of Light (diehard, 2000), and three pamphlets from Galdragon Press, The Time of Gold, The Blue Flower and The Alteration, which was shortlisted for the 2004 Callum Macdonald Memorial Award for poetry pamphlets. Her work has appeared in many anthologies of Scottish poetry, most recently Modern Scottish Women Poets (Canongate, 2003) and The Edinburgh Book of Twentieth-Century Scottish Poetry (Edinburgh University Press, 2005).
