Poets'
A-Z » Stan Bell Poet and artist, Stan bell was born and lives in Glasgow. After a period of working in industry he studied at Glasgow School of Art where he subsequently taught. He has family connections on the Isle of Lewis where he has been a frequent visitor and has become increasingly interested in the organic aesthetic of the Western Isles and the poetic implications of being on the extreme North-western edge of Europe. An interest in the possible relationship of word and image has led him to being involved in a number of projects involving music, dance, poetry and painting. He gives readings at festivals and other cultural events. Publications include The First President, a monograph on the political significance of R.B. Cunninghame Graham. His poetry has appeared in a number of publications including Coincidence, Circles and Lines, Skinklin Star, La Fabrique, and Le Journal des poètes. A recent collection In Search of Stansylvania: Forty Two Poems was published by Schiltron: Glasgow in 2006. His poem Art World Signals was selected by Janice Galloway to be published on the SPL website as one of the Best Scottish Poems 2006.
