 Poets' A-Z » Myles Campbell

Born in Staffin, Skye, in 1944, Maoilios M Caimbeul did not learn to write Gaelic until 1964.
He worked as a teacher for eight years in Gairloch before returning to Staffin. His poetry is internationally acclaimed, widely published, and represented in An Tuil, Ronald I.M.Black's definitive and widely acclaimed Anthology of 20th Century Scottish Gaelic Verse (Polygon, 2002).

Myles Campbell’s latest collections are Saoghal Ùr (New World), published by Diehard (Callander) in 2003 and described by Ronald Black as ‘bàrdachd an duine bhig’ or ‘the poetry of the common man’; and Breac-A'-Mhuiltein (Coisceim, 2007).
