| Hot on the heels of the Great Scottish Run… comes ‘Runner’, the first of a new series of poetry posters, the Subway Stanzas, to be displayed on every underground platform station throughout Glasgow.
‘Runner’ is written by Robert Seatter from Travelling to the Fish Orchards published by Seren in 2002 and has been chosen to launch the Scottish Poetry Library’s Commonwealth project to support Glasgow’s bid to host the Commonwealth Games in 2014.
‘Runner’ is the first of a series of six and is produced by the Scottish Poetry Library with the support of Glasgow advertising company Non Stop Advertising, Strathclyde Public Transport, Primesight, Glasgow City Council. Each of the poems will be displayed for four weeks and have been written by poets from England, South Africa, India, Scotland and Australia.
In the months to come, look out for poems to celebrate The Big Big World Music Festival, Inspiration Children’s Festival, Celtic Connections, Valentine’s Day and International Women’s Day – let us know which poem is your favourite!
The poems can be borrowed from the Scottish Poetry Library, in person or by post.
