| The Alliance Française de Glasgow and the Goethe-Institut, Glasgow, have produced sets of poetry posters for schools.
Now available are two sets of four delightful posters on the theme of the seasons for use in the classroom. Each illustrated poster has a poem in the original language with a translation specially commissioned from a Scottish poet. Each comes with an accompanying lesson plan, making these posters a highly useful and inspiring resource for teachers.
The French language posters are
of 'Une histoire à suivre' by Claude Roy, translated by Anna Crowe;
'Les papillons' by Gérard de Nerval, translated by Tessa Ransford;
'La petite pomme' by G. Norge, translated by Anna Crowe;
'Chanson pour les enfants l'hiver' by Jacques Prévert, translated by Anna Crowe.
The German language posters are of 'Maifest' by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, translated by Ron Butlin and Regi Claire;
'Guter Rat' by Theodor Fontane, translated by Ken Cockburn;
'Goldene Welt' by Georg Britting,
translated by Ken Cockburn;
'Draußen schneit es' (author unknown), translated by Ron Butlin and Regi Claire.
